Now that we are a few weeks into 2021, Arctic Bay would like to take this time to reflect on what a unique year 2020 was, both for the organization and as a community. It was a year full of new and difficult challenges, but also innovation and evolution for many businesses. Canadians, and people all over the world, had to face economic and social obstacles like never before, but despite all that it was still an incredible year to be part of Arctic Bay.

The A/B Community Has Gone Global

As proud as we are to be a company that was born in Canada and stays in Canada, we also want to show our deepest appreciation for those members of the A/B Community who have supported us from all across the world.

In the year 2020, we can happily confirm that direct-online sales numbers have seen a significant increase this year, with more orders for Canadian made extreme winter parkas than ever before being shipped out to Arctic Bay customers in:

As our reach of customers expanded in 2020, people from all walks of life found that our extremely warm jackets and parkas, made exclusively in Canada, we the best way to stay warm and look amazing during a tough winter. Thanks to this growing global A/B Community, we are ready to start 2021 stronger than ever, with our team in our Winnipeg factory already working hard to produce top-quality outerwear and winter accessories.

Moving Forward Through Covid-19

Of course, the Covid-19 global pandemic was what made the year 2020 so incredibly challenging, as the illness impacted so many people both here in Canada and all over the world. While infections spread throughout the year, the tragic loss of life and the overwhelming of hospitals and healthcare workers seemed to only be magnified by the economic toll that quarantine placed on small businesses. In the beginning, the team at Arctic Bay feared for our families, our neighbors, and our future as a whole.

Today, we can proudly say that at Arctic Bay we are doing all that we can to safely move forward, despite all the hardships that Covid-19 have brought to our community. We have done all that we can to ensure both the safety of our staff and the highest quality of care for our customers, and it has shown.

With all that has happened in 2020, most competing Canadian-made brands increased prices by 25-35%, with most labels becoming even more expensive during the Covid-19 pandemic. But at Arctic Bay, our Canadian-made down parkas and luxury winter accessories actually went on sale for 25-50% off throughout several sales cycles.

We were proud to see that throughout the pandemic direct sales from our online store increased, with direct shipping to all buyers. Even with such a seemingly insurmountable obstacle before us, the A/B Community supported us, and we continue to support them by manufacturing our extreme winter parkas and jackets.

Sure, we are proud to have some of the top skilled manufacturers, top quality fabric, and most uniquely elegant designers producing Canadian-made coats. However, our mission is meant to bring the A/B Community together and offer quality products and unmatched support. From our offices to our factory in Winnipeg, Canada, we are committed to our community.

In 2021, we encourage all of those who helped make 2020 such an incredible year to join our A/B Community. For last season, we have all seen a significant lifestyle change.
